Our Story
Soil and Bone is for those who see the value in the natural, the useful, and the well-made. It’s for those who appreciate time-honoured skills, the quiet pride of craftsmanship, and a life lived a little closer to the land.
My name is Tom, and Soil and Bone is, in many ways, a reflection of who I am and the life I’m drawn to - simple, grounded, and shaped by the natural world. Since arriving on the these shores from jolly-old England, I’ve had a deep appreciation for the Australian landscape, the rawness of the bush, the rhythm of rural life, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from working with your hands.
I’ve been an amateur woodworker for a few years now. What started as a weekend hobby turned into a deep passion for shaping natural materials into objects that are both useful and lasting. There’s something deeply honest about working with wood, how it holds time, takes on wear, and tells its own story. That’s the kind of work I’ve always wanted to do. Something that would outlast me.
Soil and Bone began with a small range of practical men's clothing, well-made basics for everyday wear. Pieces that fit right, wear well, and make sense for the kind of life I was living. But the idea was always bigger. I wanted to build a brand that celebrated the things I valued most - the outdoors, good design, craftsmanship, and a strong connection to place.
That’s why we’ve launched the Woodshop.
The Woodshop is the heart of where Soil and Bone is headed. A growing collection of handcrafted timber goods made right here in Berry, NSW. Using locally sourced Australian hardwoods, we create boards, blocks, and simple accessories designed to be used, loved, and passed on. Every piece is made by hand, with care and intention. No shortcuts, no nonsense, just honest work and beautiful materials.
We’re still small. Still learning. Still shaping something with our own hands. But we believe in what we’re doing. Thanks for being here. The journey’s just getting started.
